Steamed Vegetarian Dumplings
Summary:
Steamed vegetarian dumplings are a light and healthy snack with a chewy wrapper and flavorful plant-based filling, retaining the natural taste of the ingredients through steaming.
Ingredients:
Flour 300g
Warm water 150ml (for dough)
Cabbage 200g (minced)
Shiitake mushrooms 100g (soaked and diced)
Carrot half (shredded)
Glass noodles 50g (soaked and chopped)
Ginger 3 slices (minced)
Soy sauce 1 tablespoon
Vegetarian oyster sauce 1 tablespoon
Sesame oil a few drops
Salt to taste
White pepper powder a pinch
Instructions:
1.Make the Dough:
Place the flour in a large bowl and slowly add warm water. Knead into a smooth dough and let it rest for 30 minutes covered with a damp cloth.
2.Prepare the Filling:
Mince the cabbage and squeeze out excess water. Dice the soaked mushrooms, shred the carrot, chop the softened glass noodles, and mince the ginger.
3.Mix the Filling:
Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Add soy sauce, vegetarian oyster sauce, salt, white pepper, and sesame oil. Mix well.
4.Wrap the Dumplings:
Divide the dough into small portions, roll each into a thin circle, add filling in the center, and seal the edges.
5.Steam the Dumplings:
Place the dumplings in a steamer. Once the water boils, steam for 8–10 minutes.
6.Serve and Enjoy:
Remove from the steamer and serve hot with your preferred dipping sauce. The dumplings are aromatic and satisfying.
