Walnut & Sesame Steamed Buns

Summary:

Walnut & sesame steamed buns are fluffy and nutritious plant-based bread rolls with a wonderful aroma from nuts and grains.

Ingredients:

All-purpose flour 300g

Dry yeast 3g

Warm water 150ml

White sugar 1 tablespoon (optional)

Crushed walnuts 30g

Black sesame seeds 20g

Instructions:

1.Make the Dough:

Mix flour, yeast, and sugar. Gradually add warm water and knead into a smooth dough. Cover and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.

2.Add Nuts and Seeds:

Punch out the air and knead crushed walnuts and black sesame seeds evenly into the dough.

3.Shape the Buns:

Divide the dough into small portions, roll into balls, and let them rest in the steamer for 15 minutes.

4.Steam the Buns:

Bring water to a boil, place the steamer on top, and steam over high heat for 10–12 minutes. Turn off heat and let sit for 2 minutes before opening the lid.

5.Serve and Enjoy:

The buns are soft, aromatic, and best enjoyed warm.
