Red Bean Buns

Summary:

Red bean buns are soft and sweet traditional vegetarian treats made by steaming fluffy dough filled with smooth red bean paste.

Ingredients:

All-purpose flour 300g

Dry yeast 3g

Warm water 150ml

White sugar 1 tablespoon (for dough)

Red bean paste 200g

Vegetable oil a few drops (to prevent sticking)

Instructions:

1.Make the Dough:

Dissolve the yeast in warm water, then mix in the flour and sugar. Knead into a smooth dough, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.

2.Divide the Dough:

Knead the risen dough to remove air, then divide into equal small portions and roll each into a ball.

3.Wrap with Filling:

Flatten each dough ball into a circle, place red bean paste in the center, and seal tightly into a bun shape.

4.Second Rise:

Place the buns in a steamer lined with parchment paper or brushed with oil. Let rest for 20 minutes.

5.Steam the Buns:

Boil water in a pot, place the steamer on top, and steam the buns for 10 minutes. Turn off the heat and let sit for 2 more minutes before uncovering.

6.Serve and Enjoy:

The buns are fluffy and sweet. Serve warm or allow to cool slightly before eating.
