Verse For Repentance
Disciple ____sincerely seeks repentance before the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas:
All evil deeds committed in the past,
Arise from beginningless greed, hatred, and delusion.
Born of body, speech, and mind,
All these I now repent.
Sins originate from the mind, so with the mind I repent;
When the mind is extinguished, sins also vanish.
With both mind and sins extinguished, both become empty;
This is called true repentance.
From past thoughts, present thoughts, and future thoughts, may every thought be undefiled by delusion. All past evil deeds, delusions, and other transgressions, I now repent. May they be eradicated at once and never arise again!
